End of the season ...

Avery and Daddy having fun pool time

Everything must eventually end, even those things that are really really really fun ... and that means as Fall now begins and the pool water's temperature starts to drop, so must swim time.

At least I have some picture to remind me of all the fun I had over these last few months ...

Jailhouse blues ...

"The pool is just so close, yet it's so far away ..."

Sometimes I get so blue when all I do is look around me and see all these walls and bars and such just lockin' me in and keeping me from what I really want to do ... it's just so sad ...

It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from another fallen hero this last week, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" ... that's exactly how I feel in my jailhouse-of-a-life ... backed up into a corner.

Someone please come and free me ... and hurry up about it since life is just passing me by ...

"These shoes were made for walking,
yet these bars just cage me in ..."

My brand new ride ...

Avery's sweet new ride!!!

I decided it was about time to graduate to a higher level of comfort ... you know, why walk around the house when I can just be pushed and pulled instead. I opted for a high end (note the cup holder) heavy-duty vehicle, one that could tackle the mountainous terrain I now lived in. Though, some assembly for such a ride is always required ... and I think we all know who is best to handle such a task ...

... and enjoying the great outdoors, with her feet up and sippy-cup at hand

I think I'll call her "Red" ... for obvious reasons of course. Although, maybe I should instead call her "Dead Red" since she's already broke down at least once for me ... or maybe all of those leftover parts I had after assembling really weren't "extra parts"???

My first own computer ...

Avery testing out her own laptop PC

Today I reached a major milestone in my life ... I finally got my own computer (thanks to Grandpa)!!!!

No more fighting with Mommy and Daddy about when I can get to use any of their computers. Now I can just pop in the 4 AA batteries whenever I want and take my portable PC anywhere I want to go.

Yep, this flashy Tandy 200 PC is way more compact than either Mommy or Daddy's laptop, plus it doesn't even have any messy cords to plug in and it only needs new batteries every few days!!!

Unfortunately, there's one drawback ... it can't connect to the internet (since it was manufactured before the internet existed), so I' still have to beg and borrow to get any time on my parent's PC to blog.

So much fun Avery can't even sit down while typing

Making New Friends ...

Even though moving away from all my old friends at my childhood house was hard to do, I have already started to make all sorts of new friends ...

Hoppity Hop likes to run all around on the backyard grass ...
she's fun to play tag with

Mr Slithers likes to slowly (and quietly) sneak up behind you ...
it's sort of startling at times ... trust me

Mr Creeps is always walking around the
backyard late a night looking for his kids ...

... there's Creeps Jr, his wild teenage son ...

... and there's the little sister, Creepia ...
she's such a cutie little baby

Mr Chippers is a fun fellow to play chase with ...
though he always wins since he's so fast

This is where Fluffy created a home in the wild back-backyard ...
well, it's either him or one of his relatives

And what is that in the distance ...
maybe a wild mountain lion?!?!? ...

... ha ha, fooled you ...
it's just Scout-No enjoying her new wilderness surroundings

Auntie Em Visits Little Ol' Me ...

"We're Number 1" ... "We're Number 1"

My Auntie Em came to visit me this summer for a whole week and we had so much fun!!!! She's just sooo awesome ... we have so much fun that I don't even think I ever get a chance to sleep while she's in town!!!

She got me into playing a lot of tennis this time around. We mostly played as a doubles team against Mommy and Daddy, where we beat them each and every time!!!

Avery warming up to play some tennis

Everyone enjoying a nice evening dinner poolside

We spent a lot of time in our new backyard also ... in the pool, by the pool, in my sandbox, and just playing around in the grass. It was always just so exciting ... sometimes I would get so worn out that I would just fall fast asleep on my Auntie Em's shoulder ... the excitement continued onward though in all my fun-filled beautiful dreams with her.

Can someone recommend a professional stylist asap!!!!

Avery with her "bowl" haircut

So when Mommy decided I needed a "fresh new look" I never thought that meant putting a bowl on my head and trimming around the edges ... just what is the deal with that?

I always thought Mommy was so "fashion forward"that I went with it ... but, weeks later I'm still regretting it!!! What does a girl have to do to get a decent hairdo?

All I know is that ...

... I was snug as a bug just sawing logs on the couch when the next thing I know is that I'm on the floor and my head hurts really really bad ... just what the heck happen, Mommy and Daddy???

Avery not happy about her bruise
on the corner of her forehead

So I'm not sure if it's possibly negligence on Mommy and/or Daddy or if it was truly "just an accident" as they like to call it ... I mean really, is it that hard to keep track of little ol' me??? I think their lucky I just don't know how to use a phone yet, otherwise I would have called Goldberg and Osborn to start documenting a lawsuit. Time is money, and me having to spend 5 hrs in the ER (even going past midnight on a workday no less) is not how I want to spend my time.

Just don't let it happen again Mommy and Daddy!!!!

Avery feeling much better the next day

FYI, the ER doc and my pediatrician (who I saw a few days later) said I was a-ok and didn't really break anything important.

Moonwalking ...

Disclaimer: This above moonwalking tribute directed towards the passing of "the King of Pop" is in no way judging whether he was an overall "good guy" or "bad guy", but only that the man could dance.

Avery the great assembler ...

Avery taking a break and "playing around"
with her screwdrivers

So I guess part of moving into a new house involves getting lots of new stuff since that has been the overall theme around here this last month or so. And as usually, Mommy and Daddy need my help in order to complete the tasks at hand ... what would they ever do without me.

What the ...

Avery "showing off" her rash

First off, no, it isn't as painful as it might look ... although it does look bad, doesn't it? But the main question in my mind is "what does a girl do in this type of situation?" Cover it up with clothing or makeup?

Fastest snail in the West ...

I've heard some people complain that snails are just too slow. I guess they've never met my new friend Mr Smiley Snail ... he's the quickest I've ever seen ... so quick I can't even talk on my cell phone and hold on at the same time!!!

Farewell to my childhood home ...

Avery's childhood home

Avery compressing her whole life into
taped-up brown boxes

Life has been difficult over the last month, which is probably evident from my random/sporadic blog postings of late. Unbeknown to me, my thoughtless parents decided to sell and move out of my childhood home last month and their actions have forced a sort of "critical mass" explosion of packing/cleaning/storing/moving/unpacking/organizing/sleeplessness/crying/etc that it makes me wonder if I'll ever go back to a normal life again.

I only hope that their drastic decision does not cause long term harm to my future growth and development ... and that our new house is as great or even better!!!

Goodbye to the dishwasher that I loved to play house in ...

Goodbye to my dining/play room where I learned
how to eat all the colors of food and then play with them too ...

Goodbye to the family room that hushed me
into sleep each and every night ...

And goodbye to my great bedroom ... I will miss you the very most ...

(next week starts the adventures in Avery's new home)

Party Girl Avery ...

So far this summer has been really busy busy busy ... that's the main reason why I haven't blogged in some time now. I know, I know, I have a lot of catching up to do, especially about my new living arrangements that you might have heard about, but that will all have to wait for now (since my photo-biographers have been just too busy to take any pics of me in my new surrounding).

Anyway, some of the other things keeping me busy are all my friend's birthday parties. My friend Lily just turned two and had a nice party at a Waterpark ... it was just awesome!!!

Avery playing in the water with everyone at the party ...

... Mommy ruining my fun time in the water
(I could just stay in there all day long) ...

... Mommy trying to make it up to me with birthday cupcakes
(and yes, that's good ol' Nick flexing his big muscles for me ... what a hunk!) ...

... Avery enjoying the Birthday cupcakes ...

... Avery really enjoying the Birthday cupcakes!!!

And then there was Adrian's 3rd birthday party which was at a really grownup location ... it was as if the ground turned soft, bouncy, and moved unpredictably below my feet. I felt like I was learning to walk again (which wasn't that fun the first time around) ... so if that's what three year olds like to do, than I hope I never get that old.

Daddy and Avery going fast down an inflatable slide
(do I look like I'm having fun, Daddy?) ...

Daddy and Avery playing some B-ball (sort of) ...

... with the birthday boy and other party guests ...

... Avery exhausted ... or possibly in a sugar coma!
