Graffiti Art

When no one is looking, I secretly like to run outside and express myself all over my surroundings. Here is a sampling of my artistic wares (using my backyard as my canvas).

Who does this portrait remind you of???
Here's a hint, she only has blond
hair every now and then

And who could this be???
Here's a hint, he takes me running all the time

And this one is the sun with a capital "P" on top ...
I captured this piece as the sun was setting where
this dense array of clouds overhead formed a nice little "P"

Typical Weekend Night ...

Avery going to bed ...
after much much fun before bedtime

People ask me all the time what a typical weekend night is like for a fun little energetic girl like me. So, rather than bore you all about it with words, I thought I would show you first hand what it's like ...

First I read some of my favorite books.

Then it's time for my super fun post-bathtime spaz-out that usually gets me tired and ready for bed.

Formal Dinner Party ...

Avery and Shannon sitting up for a
very special outdoor meal

Time has been moving by oh so fast lately, where it's really nice to just relax and enjoy special friends around me from time to time. Shannon is exactly one of those special friends that I just love hanging around with from time to time ... she is totally awesome!!! So I decided to make dinner for her (and her parents, who desperately wanted to tag along) ... and yes, Mommy and Daddy also wanted to be included, so how could I say no to anyone???

Avery's shenanigans!

Yea!!! Sandbox time!!!

Last but not least ... piggy back races!!!

To all my detractors ...

Avery working on her hardest puzzle to date

Some chatter on the web seems to indicate that I might have a few detractors out there that doubt my amazing puzzle solving abilities. Thus, video is provided below as evidence to silence those who doubt my truly phenomenal skills at such a very young age!!!

Note that this puzzle is even harder than the 100 piece one with the cat (from blog entry http://averyclaire.blogspot.com/2010/09/piece-by-piece-by-piece.html). My very good friend Nikki gave me this one where each puzzle piece is a US state and instead of connecting the pieces with one another, you have to place each state's shape inside the correct lines drawn on the board so that all of the pieces fit. Also note that each state is a different color, so you can't use color in any way to help connect them together.

Piece by piece by piece ...

I have a new hobby that's so much fun ... in fact, I think I'm addicted!!! It started months ago with simple easy baby puzzles that only have 4, 10, or 16 pieces where I recently advanced to the next step of putting together 20, 30, and 40 piece puzzle sets. And now that I've quickly mastered all of the basics like connecting all the edge pieces first and matching up all the color lines and such, I'm now going to attempt a very advanced puzzle ... it's 100 pieces and even says it for "ages 6 & up"!!!

Avery beginning her 100 piece puzzle
that's for "ages 6 & up" ...

... starting with the edge pieces first ...

... edges are now all complete ...

... and next is working inward ...

... and the kitty cat is now complete ...
now working on each flower until ...

... the very last piece is in!!! All done!!!

FYI, this is no joke ... I really did this all by myself in a single sitting (with only lots and lots of encouraging words from Mommy and Daddy)!!!
