Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy, It's Going To Be a Girl!!!

Sonogram picture of my little sister waving hi to me from the womb

It's so exciting to know that I'm going to have a perfect little sister instead of some stinky yucky bratty goofy little brother (like my good friend Mathew).  I'm so so excited that I even taped this picture above onto my bedroom wall all by myself.  I look at it every day I get out of bed and wave hi back to her.  She is going to be my best little buddy and we are going to play together all the time.  She is going to be so lucky to have me as a big sister.  I'll show her all my special tricks on how to do everything, like how to get Mommy or Daddy to do exactly whatever I want them to do (it's a very different process for either of them).  I'll even show her all my magic tricks!  And I'll get to teacher her all sorts of neat stuff that I already know.  And I can show her all of my favorite DVDs while we eat ice cream and popcorn together.  We are going to have so much fun together, forever and ever and ever!!!

Owlie

Owlie on his perch right outside my window

I have a new friend that stays perched on a ledge right outside my window during the day.  He told me his name is Owlie and that he likes to watch all the birdies play around my bird feeder (also right outside my window).  Isn't he adorable?  He's so cute, that I made a song about him that goes like this:

My Fuzzy Friend, Owlie
You are so short and so sweet and you're totally neat, you are my Owlie ...
You sit up there really high and watch over all my sky, you are my Owlie ...
Your eyes are so bright that I can see them in the night, you are my Owlie ...
I really wish you could come in and fly all around me while I grin, yes you are my Owlie ...
But I guess, I have to, just watch from afar, do what you do,
since you live wild, and outside my style, I can only, brightly smile,
and fondly admire, all the beauty, that makes you be you.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!

Avery and her very old Daddy
(having a good time as always)

Avery's picture of her Daddy (really how he looks
on the weekends and even wrote out the word "DAD")

I even wrote a special song for my Daddy and it goes like this:

Stop, Please Don't Go Away
You are my Daddy, and I hug you so tight,
I love you so much, I love you so much, I love you so much,  I love you so much,
I don't want you to do anything without me!!!
I don't want you to go anywhere without me, even though I know you have to go work.
And I know you have to clean the fireplace.
The End

Avery, The Archaeologist

The other day Mommy and I were playing in the backyard and I tripped over this mysterious looking rock that was sticking straight out of the ground.  After looking it over for awhile (since it seemed very different than all the other rocks), we noticed what looked like little tiny dinosaur bones captured all over the surface of it!  That's when Avery the Archaeologist took over the find!  Below are pictures from my excavation.

Avery carefully digging out what looked like dinosaur bones

Eureka!  A pelvic and leg bone of a baby Diplodocus
(and yes, a spoon is an excellent excavation tool)!!!

Avery carefully assembling the baby dinosaur bones back together
(note that you absolutely must do this shirtless so that you
don't lose any bones in a shirt pocket or anything like that)

A full size baby Diplodocus that I will be
donating to my local museum!!!

Swimmy!!!

Swimmy, Avery's very first pet of her own

One of the best Christmas gifts I got last week was my very first own pet, a real fishy fish.  Mommy took me to the pet store to let me pick her out and then her pink tank too (and yes, I even picked out that unicorn as her fishy friend that you can see in the picture)!  I put her right next to my bed, so I can see her first thing every morning when I wake up.  I named her Swimmy, after one of my favorite books. I just love watching her swim all around.  I love her, love her, love her!  She is the cutest fish ever!!!
