Winter Wonderland ...

Starting our tour through the most
Christmasy neighborhood in town

For fun this holiday season, Mommy and Daddy took me out to walk around in a neighborhood of town where everyone gets a little crazy on decorating their homes for Christmas. Grandma, Grandpa, and a bunch of other friends came along too!!! And as a bonus, we just happen to pick one of the coldest nights ever where it seemed like it was going to snow at any minute (too bad it never did ... maybe next year)!!!

Two days of Christmas!?!!??!

Santa must have known I was an extra good girl this year since he gave me TWO full days of Christmas!!!

Mommy and Daddy kept trying to tell me that poor weather conditions were the main cause of my situation (which was mainly that Christmas with Auntie Em was delayed by a day, thus extending my Christmas to an extra special "Two Days of Christmas"), but to that I say, "SOMEONE had to have CAUSED those poor weather conditions and that someones name is SANTA!!!", to which they just respond by staring blankly at me like they can't understand what I'm saying. Oh well, as long as I know the truth your secret is safe with me, Santa.

So, enough of all this talky-talk, here's the breakdown of all the goods that Santa and all my friends and family gave me ... thanks to you all (I know Santa reads my blog as well) for all the great books, toys, and clothes!!!

what would my family do without me???

Everyone liked the feast of a meal I prepared so much that I was allowed to do the main Christmas toast this year ... the video of it was slightly corrupted, but luckily the very end is still viewable (just below) ... see for yourself how well everyone just adored my elegant and unforgettable toast ...

They are just so unfair ...

... I put my sneaker-booties on all by myself this morning to go outside to play and Mommy and Daddy won't open the door for me!!!

I think they're just too controlling about what I wear (both inside and outside) ... just wait till I'm big enough to let myself out that door ... there will be no stopping me then ... ha ha ha!!!

I know what I want to be when I grow up ...

... I want to be an airplane pilot!!!

While my out-of-town Grandparents were visiting me, we all went to the airplane museum to see hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of airplanes. It was so great!!! I even got to climb into one that was just my size and with Mommy's help we flew off into a great bunch of blossoming clouds in the midst of the vast blue sky ...

Avery and Mommy about ready to take off

There was even a plane that would have been a perfect match with my Halloween costume this year ( http://averyclaire.blogspot.com/2009/11/avery-plays-dress-up-with-great.html ) ... and another one resembled my favorite animal of the sea ... a shark!!!

Avery 'hearts' the Bumble-Bee plane ...

... and really really likes the JAWS plane too

It was so much fun I can't wait to go see all the planes again soon.

A fun new game???

Daddy taught me this new game the other day that he called "fun and exciting" and even said "all the cool kids are doing it", but I'm not so sure. It doesn't really seem that fun to me and I'm not sure why he seems so pleased to have me play it all throughout the house ... what do you think???

Turkey, Turkey, Turkey ...

Thanksgiving Day was totally awesome this year!!! There were even more people than last year that came over just to play games and have fun with me!!! I love the holiday season!!!

So to start the day off as soon as can be (right at 6am), I jumped onto my bike and rode it all around the house while ringing my bell as loud and fast as I could ... I guess some people have trouble waking up before sunrise, unlike me.

Avery waking up the house

Since Mommy and Daddy were too busy cooking up the feast, my out-of-town Grandparents were glad to entertain and play all sorts of games with me ...

... and Mommy hustling up the bird in the kitchen

But only after a brief bit of morning playtime, it was already time to eat the big feast?!!??

It seems that we ended up having a brunch-like Thanksgiving Day feast (at around 11am) since the timing countdown for a completely cooked bird was way ahead of schedule. Good thing all my grandparents had already arrived and were ready to eat!!!

helpings of mashed potatoes with dressing!!!

So since my original playtime was cut so short, I decided it was very important to continue playing throughout our meal ... someone has to provide the entertainment and who better than me!!!

And there even seemed to be some common themes from last year's Thanksgiving Day ... http://averyclaire.blogspot.com/2008/11/gobble-gobble-gobble.html

I guess my in-town Grandpa just gets really sleepy after eating a whole lot of turkey ...

Nap time for Grandpa

My good play-friend Nikki even came over to play when everyone else was too tired/full to move. She even brought over some new toys where I get to do my favorite things in the whole world ... throw stuff around and knock over other stuff!!!

... too much fun all captured in one single day!!!

What's wrong with this picture??!?!!

Avery's problem is just below her knees

I have this love/hate relationship with my favorite feetie-pjs ... after a while of constant non-stop usage (say of just normal kiddie stuff like running, jumping, crawling, rolling, playing, etc), they totally become "detached" and are more of a hassle than a toasty warm reward.

So, please advise what I should do since I'm now hopelessly addicted to having warm toes during these cold chilly mornings.
